TERMS AND CONDITIONS Booking with confidence Elgin Hotel Limited, trading as Elgin Tours and Events, is a fully-bonded member of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA V8213). Our registered office is at Elgin Hotel, 36-42 Queen’s Promenade, Blackpool, FY2 9RW and your booking with us is fully protected by our ABTA registered bond. Your contract and complaints By making a booking with us, you agree to our terms and conditions. Whether you book alone, or as part of a group, we will only deal with the lead booking names in all subsequent correspondence, including changes, amendments and cancellation. You must be at least 18 years old at the time of booking and possess the legal capacity and authority to book as the lead name and travel on holiday with us. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the personal details or other information supplied in respect of yourself and any other person travelling on the booking. You are also responsible, as the lead name, for passing on any information regarding the booking to relevant persons. If you experience a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (i.e. the hotel or coach transport company) and our representative immediately, who will endeavour to rectify the situation promptly. If the problem is not resolved at the time, please follow up your complaint in writing (within 28 days of returning home) to our customer service department at: Elgin Tours and Events, 36-42 Queen’s Promenade, Blackpool, FY2 9RW. (Full details of our complaints procedure and arbitration can be obtained from www.abta.com) Payment of deposit and price of booking Your booking is not confirmed until a deposit payment of £60 per person has been received and processed. Confirmation invoices will then be forwarded to you within 14 day of receipt of deposit. Bookings are not confirmed until the date shown on your confirmation invoice. If for any reason we are unable to confirm your booking, the deposit will be refunded immediately. The remaining balance of your booking must be paid at least 56 days (8 weeks) before your departure date. If your deposit and/or balance is not paid intime, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain your deposit where paid. If you are making a booking within 8 weeks of departure, payment of the total balance is required at the time of booking. The price of your booking is subject to surcharges for Government action, fuel and currency. In the event of any change, Elgin Tours and Events would absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of the holiday price (excluding amendment charges) Excesses of 2% will be added to the cost of the booking, plus a £1 administration fee. If this results in an increased of 10% or more of the original booking cost, you have the right to cancel the booking with a full refund (excluding amendment charges). You must cancel in writing within 14 days of being notified of this increase on the reissued invoice. If you cancel your holiday If you wish to cancel your booking, we must receive notification in writing from the lead person named on the booking. To cover the cost of processing your cancellation, and to compensate us for the risk that we may not be able to resell your booking, we’ll make a cancellation charge as shown on the scale below. N.B. If, however, you change your booking (within 56 days of departure) to a later date, we reserve the right to implement cancellation charges as detailed above. Cancellation or alteration of your booking by Elgin Tours and Events In the unlikely event of Elgin Tours and Events altering or cancelling your booking, we will endeavour to advise you as soon as possible. Occasionally, it is necessary to make changes to our itinerary or travel times – and every effort would be made to offer alternative arrangements before a full and prompt refund of monies paid. If cancellation of the entire tour that you are travelling on becomes necessary, you would be offered compensation or a credit towards another Elgin Tours and Event package on the following scale. (Please note: this applies for bookings over the value of £100 per person.)
