Thursday, there is a full day excursion to Boundary Mill and Bygone Times. Boundary Mill has a wide range of designer brands, china, glass and retail outlets as well as cafes and restaurants, you will definitely be spoilt for choice! Then it’s on to Bygone Times, voted one of the 50 best Vintage shops to visit by BBC Homes and Antiques this unusual place has a series of 3 warehouses featuring over 250 different units with antiques, collectables, curios, memorabilia and nostalgia.

APRIL - Midweek Break

4 nights Half Board accommodation with cabaret and bingo in the bar each evening. On Wednesday there is a full day excursion to Stanley Park and Blackpool Tower. Stanley Park is a beautiful Grade 2 listed park with Italian gardens, bandstand, fountains clock tower, scented and sensory gardens and a boating lake. There is also a beautiful art deco cafe which has recently been refurbished which sells some wickedly delicious cakes and beverages! Blackpool Tower built in 1894 has also undergone a makeover. It houses a Tower Dungeon attraction in place of the aquarium and an extremely scary all glass tower top for those who dare venture up there! Your entrance ticket is for the magnificent ballroom and world famous circus where you can enjoy a performance of this spectacular show.

MAY - Midweek Break

4 nights Half Board accommodation with cabaret and bingo in the bar each evening. On Thursday afternoon we are introducing our Full Afternoon Tea Dance experience served at 3.15pm to the delightful cabaret of either Chris Gee, Jeff Denton or Barry McQueen. There is a full day excursion on Wednesday to Grange over Sands and Holker Hall. Grange over Sands became popular when then railway arrived in 1857 and wealthy business men from Lancashire and Yorkshire settled and built some beautiful Edwardian buildings. There are some quaint shops and cafes or enjoy a pleasant stroll through the coastal park and promenade with its ornamental lake. Then it’s back on the coach for the short journey to Holker Hall which is the home of Lord and Lady Cavendish who welcome visitors of all ages to one of the best-loved stately homes in Britain. The west wing was completely rebuilt after a great fire in 1871 and it is here that visitors see the hall in all its splendour.
Take time to look round the amazing gardens with trees dating back to the 1750's.

JUNE - Midweek Break

In Lancaster stroll through the pedestrianised city centre, browsing in boutique shops and high street stores, and stop off for coffee and cakes at one of the popular coffee shops or out-of-the-way cafés or walk along St. George's Quay and blow away the cobwebs – stop in at the Maritime Museum and explore Lancaster's maritime history which will get you in the mood for your trip on the Lancaster Canal on a cruise boat.

TITANIC CENTENERY - Midweek Break

We would like to welcome you onboard this very special Midweek Break to honour the memory of the fateful maiden voyage of that mythical ship “Titanic” 100 years ago but on this holiday there will be no icebergs on our charted course! On Monday there will be a champagne reception before dinner so you can get to know your fellow passengers. Tuesday you are free to stroll along the promenade deck of Blackpool and the surrounding area. On Wednesday, the tenders will take you for a full day excursion to Stanley Park and Blackpool Tower (see April Midweek Break for full details). Thursday 12th April we commemorate the Titanic herself. (24hrs into her voyage and no signs of the iceberg). This afternoon we will take you to see “Titanic the musical” being performed at the Grand Theatre Blackpool. Feel free to dress in costume for the occasion, all theatre attendees are being encouraged. Back on board the Elgin we will be serving you the menu enjoyed by the First Class passengers on the last night of Titanic including a glass of wine with your meal, before entertainment is provided suitable to this great occasion. On Friday WE WILL DOCK UNSCATHED after what we hope you will agree will have been a Titanic week to remember!

QUEENS JUBILEE - Midweek Break

It’s hard to believe that 60 years have gone by since Queen Elizabeth was crowned but now is the time to celebrate on our Jubilee Midweek Break. We are having “a bit of a do” at the Elgin and we are inviting you to join us. There will be 4 nights of Half Board accommodation with oodles of bunting and lashings of tasty food and great entertainment. On Monday there is a bubbly reception before dinner. Then on Tuesday we are having a Right Royal Afternoon Tea Dance with sandwiches, cakes, scones with jam and cream and a glass of bubbly thrown in for toasting Her Majesty’s health as well as entertainment and music. On Wednesday there is a full day excursion to the city of Lancaster (see June Midweek Breaks for full details). Wednesday night is Theme night and we will carry on our patriotic feel with a 40's night brought to you by the fabulous Pat

Skipton known as “The gateway to the dales” is home to Skipton Castle which is over 900 years old and is one of the most complete medieval castles in England. Enjoy and explore the cobbled streets and find the individual shops or just browse the market stalls or visit the department stores. On our way home we visit Huntley's of Salmesbury. This is a unique shopping and eating experience. Home to an outlet of Cosgroves Fashions, an antiques centre a furniture maker, a wine distributor, a farm shop and a delicious ice cream maker as well as a wonderful cafe/restaurant it’s a great
place to stop before returning to the Elgin.
