Our Illumination packages start on Friday Friday 31st August with the Big Switch On Weekend on the NEW Tower Festival Headland and carry on until the 4th November. During the 9 weeks of the lights we offer a range of excellent breaks at the Elgin which include good food, evening entertainment and friendly service.
ILLUMINATIONS CENTENARY 2012
Centenary celebrations for Blackpool Illuminations are
set to take place in 2012 and the recreation of the most
famous tableau created will be at the heart of the plans.
The original Swan Lake installation, which featured huge
swimming birds on a surface of water, was revealed in
1954 and remained for 12 years drawing admiration
from visitors to the resort. Now the plans are to recreate
the masterpiece for the 100th anniversary celebration of
the electric light show next year.
